Bacon, Bacon, and more Bacon

Don’t know what to do this weekend? Well I have a solution for you! It’s BACON, BACON, AND MORE BACON!!!

Tomorrow, the ISU Bacon Expo will return for its second year!! Yeah, that’s right. The first EVER student powered bacon festival in the WORLD is back to help ISU students to celebrate the heavenly-ness of bacon. The event starts at 1 p.m. and goes to 5 p.m. at the Hansen Agricultural Center. Don’t know where that is? Let me help you with this handy-dandy map!

Bacon Expo

For those you are not up to date on your knowledge of bacon, Iowa is the number one producer of bacon in the United Sates. So basically, it’s the currency of Iowa. That’s how much we love bacon. I was at last years event because I was one of the students that helped plan the first event, and let me tell you this event is one-of-a-kind. It’s been one of the best experiences I have ever had in college, and that’s saying a lot because you all know that I have TONS of experiences here at ISU. Tickets are just $8 and are still on sale. Just follow this link and you get your tickets!!

MMmmmMMMMm. Look at that bacon. MMmmmMMMmmm. Oops. Sorry got distracted! 😉

So what is the Bacon Expo? Simple. It’s a student-run event that allows students to try out some new bacon recipes from their selected vendors and encourages them to learn more about how bacon is made, the companies that make them, and everything it takes to get the bacon on your plate. These new recipes include not only new kinds of bacon, but also bacon on different things, like cupcakes!

Yeah! Listen to Emma Stone, it’s absolutely delicious!

But that’s not all, the Bacon Expo has fun activities with bacon!! There is The Bacon Voice, which is a spin off or parody of the famous talent search reality show The Voice on NBC, and back again is The Bacon Eating Contest! How many strips of bacon can YOU eat?

Goodness I am so hungry……..

So if you love food and really LOVE bacon, then you should be at the Hansen Learning Center on Saturday. Trust me. You won’t regret it.
