The Tearoom

How many of you can say that you got a three-course meal for only $6.50? Well, at the Joan Bice Underwood Tearoom in room 23A of MacKay Hall, you can! The Tearoom is a restaurant/classroom teaching operation at Iowa State for the hospitality management program. They serve faculty, students, and visitors for lunch from Tuesday to Friday and dinner on Tuesday and Thursday. But don’t forget to make a reservation!

For your meal, you get a beverage, salad, entree, bread, and dessert! You can pay with CyCash or Dining Dollars, so you don’t have to carry around change. The menus change daily, so you can decide what meal you want to have by checking out the menu before making your reservation.
Here’s what my meal looked like:

Salad and beverage: spinach and lettuce salad with bacon dressing. Beverage options include milk, iced tea, coffee

Entree and bread: beef stroganoff with coconut twists

Dessert: carrot cake

Is your mouth watering yet? Make your reservation by calling the Tearoom at 294-3330 between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

I had an excellent experience at the Tearoom and would highly recommend it! The food was delicious and the service superb! I can now cross this off of my Iowa State bucket list, but I will still go back for more meals. 😀
