The Best Foods on Campus
Getting food on campus can sometimes be tricky. You have to decide where you want to go, if you can afford to spend money, if you have time for a real meal, and many other factors that you consider. I’m going to give you a quick run down on all of your options and hopefully make it a little easier for you to make your decisions.
First we have the classic dining halls. Now these are always an amazing go to – if you have swipes. If you do have swipes to use I would recommend going to Conversations (aka Convos). I feel like Convos is way too underrated and in my opinion it’s the best dining hall on campus. If you can’t go to Convos you can always try Windows or the main dining halls; Seasons and UDCC.
If you don’t have time to get a full meal my personal favorite option is going to the MU for an express meal burrito bowl and if I’m not feeling that, the MU has so many delicious options you can really never go wrong. On the days I’m super busy and don’t even have time for an express meal, I go to Bookends in the library to grab a bagel and some pineapple and I make time to eat either on the way to my class or in one of my lecture halls. They have a lot different options to choose from if you just want something quick when you’re on the go.
Some days though, I like to think I have a little extra money so I treat myself to either a food truck on campus or I get a little something in a restaurant on Lincoln Way. My most recent discovery is the Philly cheese steak truck right outside of Carver. It’s delicious, filling, and not too pricey, it’s also easy to eat while you’re walking.
Overall, you really can’t go wrong no matter where you go on campus, there’s plenty of great options to choose from. And don’t forget: even though it’s hard to do, always try to eat healthy and include fruits and veggies in whatever you decide!
