Iowa State Activities and Events!

Going to Iowa State is not just about our great academics and resources. To balance the hard work that you will be doing during your adventure, it is important to have some breaks, sit back and relax, and enjoy more of what our campus has to offer!

One great staple of Iowa State is our campanile on central campus. I have been lucky enough to have a tour of the campanile, and you can too! Every day of the week, we have one of our music professors that plays songs for all of campus from 11:50 am-12:10 pm. Both reservations and our webcast of the campanile can be found here.

Cyclone Cinema is another great perk of being a student at Iowa State. Thursday-Sunday at 7 and 10pm in Carver Hall (located by Friley/Helser/Eaton and Martin Residence Halls), there are movies every week! These FREE movies are a fantastic way to relax and unwind with cheap soda, candy and popcorn. Below is this semesters schedule:

ISU AfterDark in the Memorial Union is another great FREE weekend activity for students. Offered a few times per semester on Fridays from 9pm-1am, AfterDark is great because they bring in comedians, artists and speakers, free food, bingo prizes and more! More info can be found here.

April will be great for students with various activities happening. On April 14, we will have a Cyclone Carnival! Located across from Jack Trice Stadium (in parking lots B6 and C6), there will be food, activities, games, and performance from various student organizations! More info can be found here.

Another great activity this semester is a concert put on by our Student Union Board. On April 22, we will have Fetty Wap, Cheat Codes, Kye and Adreas Moss on our campus performing for an outdoor concert. I’ve been to Lollapalooza in Chicago every year since 2013, and if you’re like me, you will really enjoy this concert!

Overall, as you can see, Iowa State really cares about its students and wants to give students ways to be successful academically and personally.
