A Trip to Reiman Gardens!
Located near Jack Trice Stadium is Iowa State’s Reiman Gardens, which is also one of my favorite places in Ames! Admission is free for all ISU students, so make sure to take your student ID if you want to visit!
I decided to give it a visit, and to take you along with me!
When you first enter, you will see the entrance to visit the butterfly room. If you’re a fan of butterflies, you should definitely check it out! If you’re lucky, a butterfly might land on you.
To visit the main garden, you’ll have to go outside, where you’ll be greeted by tons of flowers! You can follow the path to see a variety of different flowers and plants, along with sculptures and fountains.
One of my favorite places was the little pond full of lotus flowers! (I have a tattoo of a lotus flower on my left arm… They’re one of my favorite plants!!) It’s pretty hard to find lotus flowers, so I was surprised that Reiman Gardens had them!
Overall, it’s a beautiful place to visit and a great place to take photos! Take your parents next time they visit, or go with your friends! It’s even a cute place to go on a date. You should definitely check it out on your next day off or on the weekend!
