Ames Farmers’ Market
Last weekend, I decided to go on my first visit to the Ames Farmers’ Market, located on Main Street in the downtown area. It was lively, full of people, and fun!
The farmers’ market is held every Saturday from 8am-12:30pm from May to September, and from 9am-12:30pm in October. For more information on specific vendors and events, click here!
There were several vendors selling locally grown fruits and vegetables. If you like your produce super fresh, you should stock up here! I ended up getting two onions.
Along with fresh produce, there were also artists and crafters selling their work, as well as fresh and locally grown flowers! I really regret not getting a bouquet for myself…
My favorite part was the live music! It’s like a free mini concert on a Saturday morning.
I would highly recommend getting a glass of fresh apple cider. Nothing beats local. They also had other local food vendors and breakfast sandwiches. Make sure to come with an empty stomach!
The next time you have a free Saturday morning, come check out the Ames Farmers’ Market! Come prepared with hard cash and sunscreen, and you’ll be set for a cute and lively morning.
