Heat and Harry Potter…

Hey everyone!

How are you all? I am hoping this finds you sitting on a beach somewhere getting a great tan…. Can you believe this weather we have had these past few days?!? Talk about a major heat wave! Needless to say, I have spent a good portion of my time indoors this week, mainly because of my wanting to not go into a sauna every time I step outdoors. Needless to say, I have also spent a majority of my time at the pool, both here in Ames, at the Furman Aquatic Center, as well as at the pool that is here at my apartment complex. Such good times – – and yes, I am actually getting quite a good tan.

So, last week I went to opening night of the newest, and last, Harry Potter movie. Now, I’m not going to give away any plot points or anything, but if you are as big of a fan of the series as I am, and you haven’t gone to see it yet…. Well, I suggest you stop what you are doing right now (but please, finish reading the blog :)) and go see the soonest showing of it. I have to admit, going to an opening night showing, of ANY movie, can be pretty intense. However, when it comes to Harry Potter, it’s as though everything just stops and Hogwarts came to Ames. Literally, there were hundreds of people at the movie theatre parking lot that were sitting in chairs, walking around, or even just standing in line, all waiting to get a ticket. But then again, there were people like me. Now, don’t judge, because what I’m about to tell you I only did because I was asked to by friends. A bunch of my friends and I went to the movie dressed up as Harry Potter characters. I, of course, went as Professor Dumbledore. Now, for those of you who have seen Part 1, you will probably think this is a bit odd. But, if you haven’t seen it yet, then of course it seems like the most logical character to go as! Either way, it was a great time hanging out with friends, and it was a great movie to get to see.

… Until next time …
