Comfort Food…Comfort Puppies!
Wow, Dead Week is here–may the odds be ever in your favor.
With that here, everyone is most likely getting stressed and everyone is studying their last little bit of coursework…OR, if you’re taking classes like mine, you have to study everything for your cumulative final exams. Either way it’s overwhelming and we sometimes need to find stress relievers. While I find food really helpful, the library had other ideas.
But now, I have a question for you: Do you love dogs…puppies? I know the answer is yes, and I do too!
My point here is, I stumbled upon this poster last week in the library:
…and decided that besides comfort food, I definitely needed some comfort dogs. What a great idea, right?
So I went there yesterday planning to stay only for half an hour, but ended up staying for 2 1/2 hours! I mean, they really were stress relievers and I was more overwhelmed than I thought I was. There’s a different set of dogs every hour, so of course I got to see an array of cuteness! The owners let you play with them, give them treats for tricks–they know how to shake hands and give hi-5s–and just pet the living life out of them.
This is a win-win situation for both the dogs and for you because (1) your overwhelmed mind will definitely relax for a moment and (2) these dogs will love the attention! Don’t tell me this puppy doesn’t make you smile!
Or these furry friends getting to know each other!
Or this sweet dog who loved everyone throwing tennis balls around the place!
Now these pictures may satisfy the “cuteness factor” you need to relieve your stress…but what about actually going there and feel the love!
WHAT? Comfort Dogs!
WHERE? Parks Library room 199 (one of the big reading rooms by Bookend Cafe and the exit next to LeBaron Hall)
- Tuesday (TODAY): 5-7:30pm
- Wednesday: 1-5:30pm
WHY? To take a “cuddle break” from studying for finals. I know you need it, I know we all need it and these dogs will love it. If you don’t think so, look at how many hands are petting this dog–Cassie–and how relaxed she looks!
…yeah, you need this.
I really have to thank Parks Library for coming up with this idea and hosting it…because it did make my day so much better. I bet the stress of finals is hitting us and we need to clear our minds with something like this. Genius idea! I will be stopping by today as well to make some more friends. So…what about we say we should have this kind of event every single day? Or at least once a month, huh?
We have comfort food, but why not go to comfort dogs?
